Rio de Janeiro will host FreeSoftwareRio2008, an international conference on the use of free software in the public sector.

The objective of the conference is to find a common position in favor of the use of free software in the day-to-day business processes and the management of IT service in the in all sectors of public administration.

FreeSoftwareRio2008 is organized in partnership with Proderj and Abep and is suported by OW2 Strategic Members SERPRO and BULL. OW2 is a community parter in this event.

The event takes place on December 8 and 9 at the Centro de Convenções da Bolsa do Rio.
